2020-2021 School News

MLCANews & Events

Aloha!     I wanted to touch base with you as we are quickly approaching the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Some of you are inquiring about the 2020-21 school year and what we anticipate that that looks like. Let me assure you that the administration and school board of Makua Lani Christian Academy is preparing for on campus school operations to resume in the fall of 2020. We will follow specific health precautions which will be in accordance with our local, state, and federal requirements.  While specific decisions and plans will be finalized over the next several months as more information and updated public health guidelines are issued, strategies are being developed in the following areas including but not limited to: sanitizing the facilities, using of masks in classes and on grounds, instituting of capacity limits in classrooms, play areas, and gathering areas, and possibly continuing the use of online and virtual platforms in conjunction with in-person services.     Though we are fully preparing for on campus learning in the fall, we would be unwise to not also prepare a contingency plan in the event that there is an interruption to on campus learning. In the event our local community experiences a spike in COVID-19 cases and an interruption of physical operations occurs, a shift to remote learning or a type of blended learning will happen as necessary. I will continue to communicate with you throughout June and July as developments occur. Keep us as well as our island and country in your prayers.
Blessings~ Sandy Butler, Administrator
